Jamey Blaikie, the former manager for Porsche Cars Australia Motorsport and a longtime member of Australia's extended racing family, died in a car crash on Monday, according to news reports.

Porsche's director of public relations and motorsport Paul Ellis told this to :

"Jamey loved many of us here at Porsche and considered some of us as family. And he loved the Porsche brand through and through," he said. "Jamey was instrumental in the introduction of Carrera Cup to Australia and helping implement the Porsche Motorsport Pyramid in this country. He lived and breathed his Porsche Motorsport."

"To the Porsche Motorsport community Jamey was a friend, an ally and a confidant. Whether you were running at the back of the grid in a GT3 Cup Challenge race or shooting for the Carrera Cup Championship – Jamey always had time for you."

"From sleeting rain and mud at Mallala with three men and a dog on the spectator hill to glorious sunshine and huge crowds at the Gold Coast … Blaikie was there in his Porsche gear, doing what he loved, with the people he loved and the sport he loved.

Behind The Scenes Of Nissan's Crazy NISMO Le Mans Pit And Paddock
Le Mans has some of the most pimptacular pit areas of any race on the planet, and newcomer Nissan’s hospitality and work space is no exception. In addition to an extremely organized garage, there’s a full suite with a DJ, a smoothie bar and a slide. That’s right: a giant...

One of the most unexpected things I’ve discovered from my first trip to Le Mans is that this part of France has heinous, giant flies everywhere, particularly on muggy, sweaty days like today. It looks like I’m not alone in total fly hate mode. Number 64, clean your onboard camera....

Porsche Dressed Like Rocketship Imitates Rocketship, Burns
Porsche’s current livery reminds me just a bit of the Space Shuttle: all whites, blacks and greys. Unfortunately, the Space Shuttle can pull off big fiery rockets in the back, and a terrestrial Porsche 911 RSR cannot. Porsche Catches On Fire At Le Mans 2015 The number 13 Rebellion Racing...

This Isn't The Kind Of Open Door Policy Nissan Wanted
Nissan has lovingly to their ambitious LMP1 program, however, I don’t think they meant for this one to open while the car was in use. Oops. Lucas Ordóñez’s left side door on the number 21 GT-R LM Nismo popped open after his first pit stop for fuel. It failed to...

Half Of This Porsche Is Made Of Lego Bricks
Behold the ultimate Lego kit: half of a Porsche 911 RSR! Over 380,000 bricks went into making half of this car, and it’s one of the most detailed and wonderful Lego builds yet. The differences between the two sides on this display for the 24 Hours of Le Mans mean...
