Formula 4 Race Halted For School Bus On The Track
Formula 4 Race Halted For School Bus On The Track-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:20

A bus driver took a wrong turn yesterday and accidentally ended up out on track at Circuit of the Americas’ Turn 6, halting a Formula 4 support race for the Lone Star Le Mans weekend. Oops!

Buses are frequently used to pick up marshals and give tours at the track, and given that it was the end of the day, it was almost time to pick up everyone from the various marshal stands around the track. The Formula 4 United States Championship race was supposed to end at 7 p.m. local time, and that’s about when the bus wandered out onto track.

It wasn’t time to make that run yet, though—that F4 race was still running. The race had to be red flagged while the bus was helped off the circuit.

Fortunately, the bus was empty save for its driver and no one hit it while it was on its surprise detour. The Formula 4 race was restarted shortly after the bus was safely back behind the fence.

Americans Couldn't Even Watch The Middle Of The Only U.S. Round Of The WEC
The World Endurance Championship’s lone round in the United States was briefly pushed off of U.S. cable entirely, off of already-rarely-carried channel Fox Sports 2 to online only. In its place was UFC, which had been pushed off Fox Sports 1 for extra baseball innings in a cascade of multiple-channel...

Force India driver Nico Hülkenberg spun into the wall, bringing out the safety car immediately. Another view, from the stands: Hülkenberg had a good start, but Toro Rosso’s...

Total Beast Of A Man Ricky Taylor Scores Two Podium Finishes In One Day
Staying awake for all of Lone Star Le Mans’ races today is a feat, given that it starts with a warm-up session at 8:00 a.m., the last race finishes at 11:00 p.m., and it’s oppressively hot and humid outside. A few racers did multiple events this weekend, but the most...

One Day, We'll All Look Back On This Era Of F1 And Laugh
If you haven’t heard, Nico Rosberg won today’s Formula One Singapore Grand Prix. But no one needed to tell you that, because you knew it would either be him or his teammate, Lewis Hamilton. The universe just won’t have it any other way! One day, this suffering through the same...

No One Told This Poor Marshal About The Cars Coming Toward Him On Track
One solitary marshal at the Singapore Grand Prix didn’t get the memo that it was time to stop picking up debris on track after a short safety car period for Nico Hülkenberg’s crash. He was still working out on the track, and was forced to bolt for it when he...
