When it comes to things you don’t want to surprise you, your race car’s hood is pretty far up the list. Today’s Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race was yellow flagged early on as the number 52 LAP Motorsports Mini had to pull over because their hood randomly flipped up.

Fortunately, the marshal was able to pound the bent hood back down into latching after the hood hinges got pretty knackered in the fly-up, and surprisingly, the Mini’s windshield didn’t break, either.

Needless to say, I’m fairly certain the driver’s seat might need a good, deep cleaning in that Mini.
