Colin McRae, the 555 Impreza, and one of the biggest jumps in WRC history. This is the one.

This is Rally Australia 1997, at the Bunnings jump. It is, and I'm not sure if there's a better word for it, bonkers. Here's the outside video of the leap, along with the possibly even nuttier one-wheel landing jump that follows.

And here's the in car. Watch and listen to legendary codriver Nicky Grist — he might be even more impressive than McRae here.

Grist, who is bracing for impact with his left hand and clutching his pacenotes with his right, never misses a beat. His tone doesn't even change on the drop.
