It has come to light during an interview with Hyundai America’s Dave Zuchowski that Hyundai has plans to build a small compact crossover to take on the likes of the Nissan Juke and Ford Ecosport.

Speaking to Edmunds, Zuchowski called the upcoming crossover a ‘mini Tuscon’ which is an ix35 in our market. The compact crossover ‘would be a vehicle that would be really designed for Gen Y, for new first-time younger buyers. Think of maybe something that looks like a Juke or something that has edgy, dynamic styling.’

The nameless compact crossover is expected to come to the market around 2017. Whilst we have no pictures of the mentioned vehicle, Hyundai did bring out a concept of a small crossover during 2011 called the Curb Concept.
