If You're In Texas, Come See Some Vintage Racing This Weekend-December 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:49

Hey, you. You like old Alfa Romeos? Datsuns? Porsches? MGs? Corvettes? Old-school F1 cars? If you're reading this website, then the answer to all of that is likely yes. So if you're anywhere near Austin this weekend, you should get to the Circuit of the Americas.

That's because this weekend the circuit will play host to the U.S. Vintage Racing National Championship, which is a gigantic festival of speed featuring more than 600 old race cars of various ages from around the world.

The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association's final event of the season has 12 classes of racing that covers everything from early 1900s jalopies up to fairly recent prototypes. You're basically going to see just about everything if you go out there.

In addition, this will be the first time the circuit will host a Historic Trans-Am event, meaning old Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers, Javelins and more will party out on the track like it's 1969.

Here's the best part — it's cheap. Tickets are $15, $30 and $20 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, respectively. . Bring the kids. It's good for 'em to learn about history and culture.

Stef and I will be out there over the weekend too. We hope to see some of you there! Here are some pics I snagged earlier today at the paddock. Y'all are welcome.
