Infiniti Exits Red Bull Racing As Team Switches To TAG Heuer-Branded Renault Engines
Infiniti Exits Red Bull Racing As Team Switches To TAG Heuer-Branded Renault Engines-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:36

Infiniti and Red Bull Racing will discontinue their partnership at the end of the 2015 season, one year before their contract was supposed to end. While the F1 team will continue to use Renault engines, the new power units will wear TAG Heuer badges.

When about their engine problems and the future of Red Bull Racing this summer at the Festival of Speed, he probably had no idea what was coming as they got closer to the season finale. Rumors of them switching to Ferrari or Mercedes power, as well as getting bought by Volkswagen, hit the news long before them if they leave F1 before 2020.

Crap excuse for a deranged mutant and head honcho of Formula One Bernie Ecclestone now says that…

Humorously enough, Red Bull secured in the end, but since the 2016 power units will be jointly developed by British company Ilmor in order to get them up to speed, Red Bull’s engines will be badged as TAG Heuer’s after the luxury watchmaker left McLaren, ending a 31-year partnership with Woking.

While Renault will run its own factory team in 2016 , Infiniti’s departure from Red Bull means that “Nissan will not provide light commercial vans to Red Bull Racing anymore.”

Shame. I always wondered what Ricciardo could do with an NV200.

This Weird Also-Ran Le Mans Prototype Class Desperately Needs Someone To Care
Ginetta, a British marque so semi-obscure that you may have forgotten that people still race Ginettas all the time, its plan to add teams in the World Endurance Championship’s LMP1 privateer class starting in 2018. That’s good, because there’s only one entry in LMP1 privateer this year. Sad! I say...

When You Really Only Care About Your Bumper
When You Really Only Care About Your Bumper
Look, the rest of the car—I can take it or leave it. Just attach the tow hook to the bumper. That’s all I want back if I get stuck out on track. Don’t bother attaching the hook to anything structural on the car itself that might accidentally pull the whole...

Just Sit Back And Watch This Cracked-Out Alfa Romeo 4C Storm Up A Hill
I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to divine the regulations of hillclimb events, or lack thereof. It seems to be the last bastion of “nearly anything goes” in terms of power and aerodynamics. Do I care about what those specific rules are? Hell naw. Here’s a cracked-out and roided-up...

This Is How You Say 'Hi, Mom' From The Dakar Rally
Everyone’s a ham for the camera, but how many of you can wave at the cameras while flying along at 112 mph in the sand? French rider Adrien Van Beveren waved for the cameras atop his Yamaha during Stage 2 of this year’s Dakar Rally. Stage 2 concluded yesterday, and...
