It Really Is A Holiday Because NASCAR’s Running Two Daytona Races On The Same Day-February 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:21

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

Because of a rain delay on Friday night, there’s a doubleheader at Daytona International Speedway planned for Saturday with both the Xfinity Series and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series—weather permitting, of course. But hey, what a day! What an American holiday weekend! Plus, two plate Daytona races within the same eight hours sounds like the right way to spend a Saturday.

It’s Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s last time at Daytona—don’t quote us on that, because he could easily become a like Jeff Gordon—and NASCAR’s most popular driver is on the pole position for the Cup race. Expect a lot of wrecks (), because .

Up north will be IMSA’s sports-car classes, with the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship headlining the weekend at Watkins Glen International. The WeatherTech race will be on television, but you’ll have to catch all of the other classes that are racing this weekend online.

Also streaming will be the MotoGP World Championship from Germany and the FIA World Rallycross Championship from Sweden. MotoGP is, as usual, on the subscription service , while you can catch some rallycross via a Facebook and a YouTube live stream as listed below. The stream listings here are for the U.S., and global television listings can be found .

There will also be live coverage from the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship on Saturday, if you need more two-wheeled coverage.

The delayed showings this weekend include NHRA, Monster Jam, the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, ARCA Racing Series, Stadium Super Trucks, Virgin Australia Supercar Championship, FIM Motocross, Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series and the Trans Am Championship.

If you know of any other events or streams going on this weekend, feel free to let us know in the comments below.

Indy 500 Will Be Run With Some Fans Despite Nothing Having Changed Since Last Time
We all know the story of the 2020 Indy 500. First the race was pushed back from its May date thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. Track owner Roger Penske was none too pleased by that, but vowed to , then lowered that number to 25 percent, but said he’d...

I've Suddenly Got A Great Idea For A Spec Racing Series
Among all the discussion about the new US Postal Service and its new mail delivery vehicle, my beater-addled mind immediately drifted to the idea of hundreds of thousands of well-used Chevrolet S10-based Grumman LLVs coming to market via government surplus auctions all over the country, and what could possibly...

The Extreme E Racecar Fleet Will Be Recharged By Hydrogen Fuel Cells
Mostly because its inaugural season is yet to be run, I don’t particularly follow Extreme E. But the machines are and the series’ conceit is fresh. OK Fine, Maybe I Was Wrong About Hypercar
I am the first to admit that I’ve been a bit of a downer about the collapse of the FIA’s Le Mans Hypercar class. When it was teased a few years ago, there was interest from seemingly every major automaker in the world, and it would be coming to...
