The scene leading up to Jeff Gordon’s final NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race was quite sentimental. Very touching. Then he got in the car, and the typical frustrations—and radio expletives—of racing came right back.
(Go ahead and click the microphone in the top-left corner of the video above—the Vine is of Gordon’s radio transmission and needs some sound.)
The Chase-contending Gordon wasn’t happy with how Jamie McMurray raced him in the early parts of Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, in addition to struggling with car conditions in his final run for a championship title. According to Jenna Fryer of the Associated Press, Gordon wants to give McMurray an old-fashioned beatdown later.
Well, there isn’t much holding him back from doing so. What’s NASCAR going to do, dock him some points next season? Nope. He’s out of here and into the television booth for 2016, folks.
