Jim Glickenhaus' 2017 Le Mans Car Already Has An Engine And A Hybrid System-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:37

The existing pair of will while Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus gets closer to readying its road car and racer in the top class of the 2017 24 Hours of Le Mans, LMP1. Here’s what they have in store.

This news about a road-going SCG 003S, a mysterious one-off car and their LMP1 contender comes from Jim Glickenhaus himself:

We’re continuing to develop our road car and at the present time are offering race and V6 Competizione Stradale road version. While not finalized between a TTV12 or TTV8, we are exploring both options and believe they will work but we’d need to do more work before we can sell a road version with those engines.

We can sell a V6 track/street legal version in some parts of the world today and have a lot of interest in those and several deals pending. The TTV6 will be a road engine we’ve developed, badged as SCG. Race versions will have the Honda racing engine. We also have interest in a third or fourth race car for next year’s N24.

We are also moving forward on development of our LMP1 program for 2017 and have sourced a great engine and Bosch Hybrid system. Still looking for partners and sponsors.

We’re also working a client who wants a one off and remain hopeful that this entire adventure will continue.

So busy times at , as always. After getting their best result yet with a ninth position overall at the seventh event in the VLN Nürburgring racing series in September, the two SCG 003Cs won’t stay cold for too long before their next race, the VLN 9, happens on October 17.

Lots of development work has been done since the Nürburgring 24. As testing continued at Spa and Monza, the team also did a few laps with Dunlop to get closer to what the SCG 003 needs against Audi’s Michelins. Let’s jump onboard for a few minutes!

Of course Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus isn’t aiming for a top finish in LMP1. They only want to do it for the sake of racing, and to prove it can be done. Yet you know which other LMP1 race car has a Bosch hybrid system? The .

Just to be safe, we’ll continue to .

Racing game Assetto Corsa’s Dream Pack 2 of add-on content is pretty special: not only does it…

In the meantime, Macchinadue also made it into Evo’s Track Car of the Year feature, so stay tuned for that as well.

Towing A Race Car With A Small House: The Silverado 2500 High Country
So, you bought a race car. Congratulations! Let me guess: you tossed out the blinker stalks to save weight, and now you can't drive it on public roads anymore? Gotcha. We at Black Flag are here to help. People say that there's a natural progression for track nuts. You start...

Someone Let The Smoke Out Of Romain Grosjean's Lotus
Someone Let The Smoke Out Of Romain Grosjean's Lotus
Fernando Alonso isn't the only one in a cloud of smoke this weekend. Romain Grosjean's Lotus lived up to its British roots, letting its smoke out of the wiring harness in catastrophic fashion. Unfortunately, Grosjean's British-car-itis struck during the race instead of in qualifying, forcing him to pull over at...

Daniel Ricciardo's Suspension Didn't Want To Stay Attached To Its Wheel
Poor Daniel Ricciardo. His Infiniti Red Bull Racing car retired with 30 laps to go in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Watch that left wheel. Also, watch that suspension bar that, uh, doesn't look particularly attached over there. This ends Ricciardo's streak of fifteen races without a single DNF. Each of...

Brad Keselowski Is NASCAR's New Bad Guy

In focusing on winning over everything else—including over winning the respect and adoration of the other drivers—Brad has done a...

Felipe Massa Can't Find His Pit Stall
Felipe Massa Can't Find His Pit Stall
Ooooooops! Not a McLaren yet buddy. Williams' Twitter had this to say of the mix-up: I concur, Williams. Martini on white looks too good, so the McLaren team needs to embrace a less boring color for their pit crews, like lavender. Lavender would be pretty rad. This little mix-up didn't...
