Land Rover Discovery Sport Prototype At Large In NYC
Land Rover Discovery Sport Prototype At Large In NYC-October 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:13:25

A reader spotted this camo'ed SUV in Tribeca, NYC that looks exactly like which we now know was the new little Land Rover; the . City testing isn't as sexy as a jungle crossing, but it's undoubtedly more appropriate. Neighborhoods like this are the modern Land Rover's native habitat after all.

The vehicle is still wearing British license plates under a New Jersey manufacturer's tag (used when a car is still owned by the automaker), which makes me think it's heading back to England soon.

We know the Discovery Sport is slated for sale in 2015, but we'll see the finished product a lot sooner of course. Has anyone else spotted this mule roaming around?

Hat tip to Peter Uttero!

This Expensive Option On The 2016 Ford F-150 Is Actually Super Neat
The F-150 pictured above costs $67,270. It has a number of options including, but not limited to, multi-contoured massaging seats, which help explain the ridiculous price tag. There are a few expensive features, though, that are more than just frivolous—they’re actually incredibly useful. (: Ford wanted me to drive their...

How The 2017 Ford F-150's New 10-Speed Transmission Affects Fuel Economy
The 2017 will pair a brand-new 10-speed automatic transmission to the truck’s top engine option: a revised version of the twin turbo V6. Ford claims this will allow the 2WD truck to hit 25 MPG on the highway. That’s actually a lot for something with this much mass and power....

What They Mean By 'Never Lift'
Ever ever heard “when in doubt, throttle out?” Sure you have. Probably from a guy crushing a can of Bud Light on his forehead right before rolling his Jeep backwards down a hill. That said, there is truth to this ethos. As you’ll see here. I hadn’t heard of Jerry...

Hilarious Spoof Punches 'Manly' Truck Commercials Into Oblivion
“Because apparently nothing’s sacred these days.” This, obviously, is not an actual commercial from General Motors’ Holden division, it’s a skit from the Kiwi comedians of on New Zealand’s 3NOW TV channel. But it starts out like they all seem to, cutting from landscape shot to detail shot under the...

Why Everyone's Still Going Nuts Over The New Ford Bronco: An Explainer
Last week United Auto Workers union chairman Bill Johnson that a Ranger and Bronco would soon be made in Michigan. As a result, folks got all riled up over the idea of a hypothetical retro-futuristic off-roader and it’s still trending, like six days later! We’ve been hearing that these nameplates...

Turns Out You Really Can Have Fun In A $2,000 Jeep Liberty
Fred Williams’ annual “Cheap Truck Challenge” is ostensibly designed to show us how to have the most fun off-road for the least amount of money. But it tends to devolve into a demolition derby pretty quickly. Oh, I’m not complaining! This year we’ve got a $2,000 Jeep Liberty against a...
