Holy crap, look at the incredible lineup of racing talent in this one vintage race. You’ve got open wheel and Le Mans legends, led by the incomparable Romain Dumas in a stonking great Ford Thunderbird. Following him is a litany of modern greats, including Nicolas Minassian, Emanuelle Pirro, Marino Franchitti, Andre Lotterer, Marcel Fassler, and Karun Chandhok.

Admittedly this class is going to be led by the car that is best prepared, especially considering that Dumas is nearly a second clear of Formula One ace Karl Wendlinger. Obviously, since Dumas has won the 24 Hour races at Le Mans, the Nurburgring, and Spa, as well as the outright record at the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, he’s got quite a bit of talent to display.

But that Thunderbird is the real star of the show. Man, it’s so great. It slides. It motors. It yells. I love it.

Spectacular.

Experience The Simple Pleasure Of Having A Ferrari-Powered F1 Car On A Track All To Yourself
Seeing Esteban Gutierrez on track in the Sauber Ferrari C33 without other racers or a crowd is incredible. But being able to watch a lap without ridiculous music, dramatic light-sweeps or some corny voiceover is a real rare treat. You’re welcome. This appears to be from a few years ago,...

The Scuderia Glickenhaus Racecar Beat The Lap Record At Hockenheim By Four Seconds
The Nürburgring 24 Hours competing racecar just set a new lap record at the Hockenheim ring by a whole four seconds over the previous record-holder — a Porsche 918 Spyder. Of course, one is a full-fledged racecar and the other is a chunk of battery mass, but the 918 is...

Say Farewell To One Of The Most Iconic American Racing Liveries
When racing fans all over the world know of a Porsche dealership in Florida, you know you’ve done something right with a livery. Sadly, we probably won’t be seeing Brumos Porsche’s iconic red, white and blue stripes on cars for much longer, as reports that the dealership group has been...

Which 1990s Race Car Driver Had The Smallest Sunglasses?
As far as I can tell, the faster you were in the ‘90s, the smaller your sunglasses had to be. Here we see Scott Pruett before the ‘99 Grand Prix of Miami back in the days of CART. He did have some pretty tiny 1990s sunglasses on, but were they...

Oscar Espinosa, now 77, had an extensive racing career and was close with five-time Formula One racer Juan Manuel Fangio during his lifetime. Now we know just how close: he was Fangio’s son, a recent DNA test confirmed after decades of mystery. During his lifetime, Fangio never had any recognized...

Which Motorsports Program Had The Sketchiest Funding?
Which Motorsports Program Had The Sketchiest Funding?
Motorsports isn’t just a great place for people to get together and compete in the fastest cars and bikes on the planet. It’s also a good way to waste/launder the questionably rich’s ill-gotten gains. There are many motorsports programs funded by convicted crooks, cheats, and financial skeezeballs to choose from....
