The newMercedes-BenzCLA 45 AMG is currently on show at the New York Auto Show and its powered by the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engine. The model also features an exclusive AMG 4Matic all-wheel-drive system with three ESP stages.

A high-tech package that includes the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world as well as performance-oriented AMG 4MATIC all-wheel drive, it embodies Driving Performance at its best,” said Ola Källenius, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is a powerful beast

The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG is equipped with a 4-cylinder 2.0-litre engine producing 265 kW at of power at 6 000rpm with a maximum torque figure of 450 Nm at between 2 250 – 5 000rpm. Acceleration from 0-100km/h takes just 4.6 seconds with the car reaching an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h. This powerful engine is mated to a seven speed, dual-clutch AMG Speed-Shift transmission. Fuel consumption is rated at 6.9-litres/100km with CO2 emissions at 165 g/km.

Exterior Styling Features

The new four-door coupe features extravagant and unique outer designs that resemble the CLS 63 AMG model. The sporty and dynamic proportions of the CLA 45 AMG include the AMG ‘twin blade’ radiator grille and the cross strut in the AMG front apron painted in matt titanium grey. The cooling air intakes are framed by black flics which improve the airflow over the cooling modules positioned behind them, and standard Bi-xenon headlamps.

Additional features include sill panels with matt titanium grey inserts, AMG twin-spoke light alloy wheels in grey paint and high sheen finish, and the wing with ‘Turbo AMG’ lettering. Adding a dynamic appeal to the model are two chrome plated twin tailpipes of the AMG sports exhaust system which include an exhaust flap. The LED tail lights will be available as a standard feature.

Interior Styling features

Inside the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG, you are met with high class trims and finishes and top quality equipment including sports seats in ARTICO man-made leather and DINAMICA micro-fibre with red contrasting top stitching as well as red seatbelts and a multi-function steering wheel with shift paddles.

The dashboard is finished in aluminium trim and includes five galvanised ventilation outlets while the AMG instrument cluster features a central colour display, a AMG main menu and the RaceTimer.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG also includes a three stage ESP system with ESP On/Off mode and ESP Curve Dynamic Assist.

Optional Features

A number of optional features are available for the CLA 45 AMG which include AMG carbon-fibre exterior mirror housing, an AMG Exterior Carbon-Fibre package that consists of a front splitter, side sill panel inserts and trim on rear apron in genuine carbon fibre.

Additional optional features include an AMG carbon-fibre interior trim, AMG Exclusive package, AMG floor mats, AMG multi-spoke 29-inch light-alloy wheels fitted with 235/35 R 19 tyres in two variants, either painted in titanium grey with high-sheen finish or in matt black with high-sheen rim flange. An AMG Performance steering wheel and E-SELECT lever and AMG wheel bolt covers in black with hub caps in central-locking look are available for the standard AMG light-alloy wheels only.
