NASCAR Drivers Have No Idea How To Draw Texas
NASCAR Drivers Have No Idea How To Draw Texas-December 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:33

Between artistic ability and geographical knowledge, it’s safe to say there’s a reason why NASCAR drivers don’t moonlight as cartographers. Kudos to Landon Cassill for pointing outon the map, but somebody needs to tell Carl Edwards that we’re not Missouri.

In everyone’s defense, Texas is annoyingly difficult to draw. There’s good reason why we usually just put big stars on things and call it good.

Following the contours of various river-based borders is a pain in the butt. Even if you do have a good idea of the state’s basic shape, it’s all too easy to get the proportions heinously, hilariously wrong.

Cassill seems to put the most detail into his drawing, for obvious reasons. “I better do this right, my sponsor is from there,” he said. Hooray for money!

NASCAR goes to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, and Alanis and I should be there. I don’t know if we can draw Texas, either, and we live here. I usually stick to bunny rabbits and flowers, man.
