Passing 27 Cars In Six Laps On A Narrow Street Course Is The Run Of A Lifetime
Passing 27 Cars In Six Laps On A Narrow Street Course Is The Run Of A Lifetime-February 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:38

Here’s a video that’s so insane, it’s been compared to driving Forza on Easy mode with all the assists on. It doesn’t look real, but it’s what happened when Jono Lester restarted in 32nd position at the Australian GT Championship’s first race of the 2015 Clipsal 500 weekend. Watch this, and I’ll even offer to help pick your jaw off the ground.

Welcome to , a feature [that I started in the offseason and then promptly forgot about when racing is happening — oops] where we spend that pesky time between races looking at awesome footage from inside the car.

This was the final restart, so Lester just had to bring the car home in a decent position. That’s a bit hard when you’re restarting so far back, but he makes cutting through traffic look easy in this clip. Some of the other cars on track look like they’re practically standing still in comparison!

Lester’s gorgeous #27 (good number, eh?) TFM Ferrari 458 Italia GT3 successfully charged from 32nd to 5th place in the six laps remaining of the race. Insane.

Want to watch the whole race, from the beginning? Here you go — it’s up on YouTube, too:

[H/T Eric Rood for the videos; Dusty Ventures for the “Holy crap, is this Forza?” comparison]

Ferrari spoiled Ford’s ideal 1-2-3 finish at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and Ford tried to get back at them, protesting the rival team in the last hour of the race. Ferrari counter-protested and now both teams have penalties. Nice try, guys. The No. 68 Ford Chip Ganassi Racing...

The Coolest New Acura NSX Is Still A Concept Car
The is finally in production. But not like this. The simply-dubbed “Acura EV Concept” is a four-motor’d full-electric mountain attack vehicle designed to compete at the 2016 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb; the only race in America almost three miles above sea level. It’s basically just an NSX body dropped...

Why The Car With As Many Laps As The Winner Didn't Get Second Place At Le Mans
Why The Car With As Many Laps As The Winner Didn't Get Second Place At Le Mans
With 384 laps lodged in the 24 Hours of Le Mans live timing screen just like the winning No. 2 Porsche 919, many were wondering where the No. 5 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050—the one that led much of the race —was on the podium. We can all blame Le Mans’...

Sounds Like An Actual War Is Coming Out Of This Exhaust Pipe
Sounds Like An Actual War Is Coming Out Of This Exhaust Pipe
There’s something exceptionally intense about hillclimb racing. The angry automotive sounds smashing nature’s solitude– it’s all very dramatic in a “man versus nature” kind of way. This car takes that to a new level though. What you’re seeing and hearing here is a mind-bendingly aggressive run by driver in his...

Sebastian Vettel Interrupts Post-Race F1 Press Conference To Ask About Le Mans
Just because you schedule a regular-season Formula One racedoesn’t mean that F1 drivers aren’t going to ask about the result.
