Please Consider This Set of Lightly Used Bugatti Veyron Wheels for $100,000
Please Consider This Set of Lightly Used Bugatti Veyron Wheels for $100,000-March 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:09:45

There are a lot of things a person can do with $100,000, should that person be fortunate enough to have $100,000 at their disposal. They could use it as a huge downpayment on a house, put a kid through college with one transaction, or, if we’re being truly practical, buy a set of used wheels.

Sites like and found this set of lightly worn Veyron wheels on recently, listed for a Buy It Now price of $100,000 by a seller called “genuinewheel,” which is certainly where all of the world’s $1-million supercar owners buy their wheels. Even if the seller is a bit unorthodox, though, the pricing fits right in with —you know, the $42,000 turbocharger replacements or the $23,000 in labor charges on replacing a $20,000 fuel tank.

If you’re feeling sensible and know you won’t use a Veyron enough to warrant all of the costs, of course, you can always when you feel like it. But these are just everyday expenses, really, like going to the grocery store or flying to a remote island on the private jet for the weekend.

On the topic of everyday expenses, the wheel listing says the set has authentic, factory-spec rims and Michelin tires with 85 percent left, and that the $100,000 price tag is a bargain, since the seller claims in the listing that Bugatti charges $150,000 for them new. The tires and prices aren’t listed online to confirm that, but a story from 2013 had the rims and wheels estimated at $111,000 per set. And, as of reports like this one from 2012, Michelin only guaranteed them for 15 minutes at 250 mph, which is just under the Veyron’s top speed with a limiter.

When asked if the $150,000 figure is accurate and whether anyone might be able to tell from the photos if the wheels are authentic, a Bugatti spokesperson told Jalonik they couldn’t comment on either. We’ve also reached out to Michelin to ask the same thing, and we’ll update this story if we hear back.

But, if they are real, a $50,000 discount barely used tires is about as practical as Bugatti ownership comes. It’s more than enough to cover the next turbocharger replacement, after all.

You Have One Day to Get $1,500 Off of a Fiat 124 Spider Just for Choosing a Manual Transmission
The , a lovely little ,comes in both a manual and an automatic transmission—the former being an obvious source of years of smooth-shifting fun, barring any discomforts with a stick or a clutch. And, for one more day, that manual has an extra perk: $1,500 off of the car. spotted...

Could This 2010 Lotus Evora Be 'Good Enough' to Ask $33,900?
The seller of today’s Evora classifies the car’s condition as ‘Good’ in his ad, showing some war wounds in its pics. That all means that this Lotus comes with a relatively low price—for an Evora—but will that be enough to turn good into great? Yesterday I railed about my annoyance...

Is This 1999 Honda Civic Si OG Enough to Ask $9,999?
Today’s Civic Si is old school and appreciably unmodified. Could that be reason enough to mod your bank account for its purchase? There has been a spate of folding screen phones recently introduced on the market, representing a solution to a problem that really doesn’t exist. Who is the audience...

At $6,356, Could This Dealer-Offered 2012 VW CC Be a Pretty Good Deal?
There’s a discrepancy in the ad for today’s VW. The description states it’s an automatic, while the pics clearly show it’s a much rarer stick. Let’s see if the seller’s been more accurate in setting their price. It’s possible to be “between a rock and a hard place” or perhaps,...

At $16,500, Could This 1990 Toyota Celica All-Trac Turbo be All That?
Throughout the 1990s, the Celica All-Trac was Toyota’s rally champion. Nearly thirty years later, we have one vying for a win. Let’s see if its price makes it a champ here too. The concept of value is a funny thing. As example, you wouldn’t consider any first-gen Chevy Cavalier sedan...
