Porsche’s current livery reminds me just a bit of the Space Shuttle: all whites, blacks and greys. Unfortunately, the Space Shuttle can pull off big fiery rockets in the back, and a terrestrial Porsche 911 RSR cannot.
Porsche Catches On Fire At Le Mans 2015
The number 13 Rebellion Racing LMP1 and the number 92 Porsche Team Manthey 911 RSR both lost control at the first Mulsanne chicane. While 13 only needed to be fished out of a gravel trap, number 92 caught fire. This (literal) hot mess caused the first safety car of Le Mans 2015.
Fortunately, driver Patrick Pilet was on it, pulled over quickly and got out of the car. Unfortuantely, that means number 92 is out of the race.
