One of the most hotly anticipated SUVs of 2015 has been spotted in Cape Town over the weekend. The Volvo XC90 is due for an international launch in March 2015, with the vehicle arriving in South Africa aroundAugust 2015 hopefully.
Featuring incredible technology such as Drive E two-litre engines which are capable of pumping out a claimed 295 kW and 630 Nmyet offer low fuel consumption, as well as benchmark safety standards. The Volvo XC90 will give the luxury SUV market a bit of a shake up. Let’s not forget the awesome-looking Thor’s Hammer headlights either…
With the car’s background out the way, let’s focus on what was seen this weekend. Thanks to Twitter user @Emdee96, a fleet of Volvo XC90s was spotted around the Lagoon Beach area and kindly sent ussome photos. With their badges removed and covered in stereotypical pre-production spy camouflage, these vehicles were only identifiable by the Thor’s Hammer headlights. These vehicles were probably plug-inhybrids too, judging by the number of cables plugged into the cars.
