Pricing has been announced for the Honda Mobilio MPV which is due to launch in a few days.
Apart from being a Multipurpose vehicle (MPV) that can seat up to seven people as well as offer a number of storage spaces, the Honda Mobilio is said to boast styling cues of the entry-level Brio. It will also benefit from a standard audio system, and an infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth, a rear view camera and USB/aux/iPod connectivity.
Honda is yet to confirm under which specification the model will be launched, however according to Car Magazine SA, the model will be offered in two models: the 1.5-litre Trend and Comfort variants which will be offered with a manual gearbox.
The Honda Mobilio Comfort CVT benefits from the same 1.5-litre petrol engine as the manual-gearbox versions. However as the most economical member of the Mobilio line-up, it offers brisk dynamics, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 11.3 seconds, and a maximum speed of 140 km/h. Combined fuel consumption is rated at just 6.0-litres/100 km.
The CVT can be operated like a fully automatic gearbox, which will allow the transmission to always find the optimum combination of power, response and economy. Alternatively, drivers can opt for a sequential manual mode.
The CVT model adds a further string to the Mobilios bow, and should add further momentum to the demand for this attractive, modern and versatile seven-seater, says Graham Eagle, operations director at Honda Motor Southern Africa. It brings further convenience, even greater efficiency and real ease of use to the Mobilio line-up.
