Jared East Photography captured this great photo set of the giant pile-up at last night's NASCAR Sprint Unlimited race. These were taken from the infield, far closer to the action than the TV cameras were. Enjoy.

You may recall certain drivers talking about how hitting the grass is a disaster, and this gallery should shed some light on that. The front ends are so low on this car that it's essentially the same issue hellaflush Civics have with speedbumps: not enough clearance. The fronts of these cars deform as soon as they come off the steep banking and hit the green fluffy stuff.
