When I first saw the rally car, I figured it was another one of those concepts that’s a makeup-and-stickers fantasy. The sort of thing a car company does when it wants to say “we could do this if we were awesome, which we are not.” But holy crap, it’s real. It’s been testing. And it is glorious.

And Fiat hasn’t done away with the Abarth signature growl, either.

Unlike the regular Abarth 124, this one gets its displacement bumped up another 200 cubic centimeters so that it now makes 140 more horsepower than the street version. That’s 300 horsepower, for those of you not mathematically gifted.

It’ll also get four-way adjustable dampers, a six-speed sequential transmission, a limited slip differential, and whole bunch of other rally goodies.

But you know what? I don’t care. I want it just to look like this:

And I want it to go like hell.
