The Red Flags F1 Podcast Is the Only Racing Pod You Need
The Red Flags F1 Podcast Is the Only Racing Pod You Need-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:10:49

Red Flags F1 Podcast co-host Brian Muller chats with Jalopnik about his journey from actor to podcaster.

Here’s the thing. You’re busy. I’m busy. We’re all busy, and trying to find time to squeeze in yet another is perhaps not the easiest thing to do right now — but I don’t care. Clear your schedules, because you’re going to want to listen to the .

There’s something of a glut of Formula 1 podcasts hitting the ol’ streaming services these days (and ), so I’m going to give you my Red Flags elevator pitch. To put it simply, two childhood friends both got into F1 and decided to spend their time chatting about the absurd drama the sport brings to the motorsport world. You’ve got a serious American bent to this pod, which is particularly refreshing, since I have long since moved past the point where I need a British man to tell me my business.

How Actor Brian Muller Became an F1 Podcaster

And have I mentioned their appreciation for a good meme? Because that, truly, is what I need from my podcasts. Greeting your audience as “wankers” (pronounced, of course, with Guenther Steiner’s fabulous accent) and advertising yourselves as “little sluts who live for drama” makes for a fantastic mood-setter for the exact kind of content you’re going to get.

I mean, just have a look:

We recently had a chance to hang out with , one of Red Flags’ co-hosts who also happens to be an actor in the EPIX show Bridge and Tunnel. He told us all about his first car and his journey to podcasting, so .

And for those of you interested in the ol’ I’ve been working on with Alanis King, well — about some of the juiciest details we found during our investigation. I wish we could claim that we were Red Flags’ coolest guests, but they’ve also chatted with the likes of Mario Andretti and Willy T. Ribbs — and they did it in their unique, sass-filled, drama-hunting way, which makes for interviews of the kind you’ve never heard before.

Brad Keselowski Is NASCAR's New Bad Guy
USA Today motorsports reporter Jeff Gluck captured this little video where the fan reaction says it all. Fans cheer for Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon, but ? Not so much. Daniel Ricciardo's Suspension Didn't Want To Stay Attached To Its Wheel
Poor Daniel Ricciardo. His Infiniti Red Bull Racing car retired with 30 laps to go in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Watch that left wheel. Also, watch that suspension bar that, uh, doesn't look particularly attached over there. This ends Ricciardo's streak of fifteen races without a single DNF. Each of...

Felipe Massa Can't Find His Pit Stall
Ooooooops! Not a McLaren yet buddy. Williams' Twitter had this to say of the mix-up: I concur, Williams. Martini on white looks too good, so the McLaren team needs to embrace a less boring color for their pit crews, like lavender. Lavender would be pretty rad. This little mix-up didn't...

Someone Let The Smoke Out Of Romain Grosjean's Lotus
Fernando Alonso isn't the only one in a cloud of smoke this weekend. Romain Grosjean's Lotus lived up to its British roots, letting its smoke out of the wiring harness in catastrophic fashion. Unfortunately, Grosjean's British-car-itis struck during the race instead of in qualifying, forcing him to pull over at...

Towing A Race Car With A Small House: The Silverado 2500 High Country
So, you bought a race car. Congratulations! Let me guess: you tossed out the blinker stalks to save weight, and now you can't drive it on public roads anymore? Gotcha. We at Black Flag are here to help. People say that there's a natural progression for track nuts. You start...
