This Is The First McLaren Honda F1 Car In Over 20 Years
This Is The First McLaren Honda F1 Car In Over 20 Years-October 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:48

Honda is preparing to re-enter Formula 1 next year as an engine supplier. Here is the first look at their first driving car, an interim McLaren Honda.

Honda and McLaren have quite a history together. McLaren's late '80s/early '90s glory years were powered first by Porsche and then to even higher heights with Honda, running the same years as Senna drove (and won) for the team. They started with 1.5l turbo V6s, then went to naturally aspirated 3.5l V12s and 10s. In '93 Honda dropped out of supplying engines and the McLaren Honda era ended.

But it's back now! At least it will be back in 2015. This is just an interim 2014 car modified to fit the 2015 engine. Side-by-side pictures show slight differences in how the rear end is packaged, but there's not a lot to go on. This is .

Can't wait for next year.
