This Is What Frustration Looks Like
This Is What Frustration Looks Like-February 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:24

Christian Fittipaldi would have tried to fit in one more flying lap to try for pole position at the WeatherTech Sports Car Championship’s 12 Hours of Sebring on Friday, but he ran out of gas. Fittipaldi lost out to Neel Jani’s record-breaking fast lap by a mere 0.095 of a second, so he punched the first punchable surface he saw: C360R’s pit box.

Losing not only the ability to claim pole position, but a new qualifying record for one of the most infamous endurance races on earth over something as simple as a lack of fuel has to be maddening. Fittipaldi’s No. 5 Mustang Sampling Racing had to roll in using his pit speed limiter so as to make it all the way back into the pits.

C360R races in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge support series, which raced right after the 12 Hour’s qualifying on Frida. Fortunately, these pit boxes usually have a hammer or a inside or nearby for putting crunched bodywork back in place.

No. 17 Porsche 919 Limps Home To World Endurance Championship Title; Fans Can Finally Breathe
Only two words can accurately sum up today’s World Endurance Championship season ender: If you expected Porsche’s No. 17 car to have an easy drive home into a championship win, surprise! I don’t think anyone could have called the ending of the 6 Hours of Bahrain until the very end....

Ultra-Macho NASCAR Championship Orders Its Trophy Plates From Tiffany & Co.
Basics of the world, you’re not alone in your undying love for Tiffany & Co. NASCAR drivers are also coveting a pastel-blue-wrapped piece of Tiffany silver this weekend, as one of Tiffany’s four new shiny nameplates will adorn the Sprint Cup trophy tomorrow. That is almost way too pretty for...

Here's An Idea: Let's Turn All Of The SeaWorlds Into Race Tracks
Let’s face it—with all of the controversy surrounding its parks, SeaWorld is a sinking ship. It’s time we revert back to textbooks and documentaries to learn about undersea life, and there are far better uses for the parks’ land anyway. I have an idea, and it’s the best idea: let’s...

When You Want To Leave The Pits But Your Wheel Doesn't Want To
Oops. Needless to say, Jeremy Clements’ pit stop didn’t go well during today’s NASCAR Xfinity season ender at Homestead-Miami Speedway. As for the Xfinity Series championship, Chris Buescher locked down that title today. Sprint Cup driver Kyle Larson won the race, but opted not to do any burnouts or donuts...

Needing A 'Pineapple Shoved Up His Arse' May Be The Best Driver Insult Of 2015
V8 Supercars’ David Reynolds is not happy with Shane Van Gisbergen after SVG spun him out of contention in the first race at Phillip Island. Reynolds, who received a stiff over his remarks before Bathurst, thinks SVG now needs a $50,000 fine and a pineapple shoved up where the sun...

No, Really: Touring Car Drivers Don't Mess Around
Here’s the first corner of TCR International’s Race 2 at the Macau Grand Prix. It’s the kind of mega pile-up that only the combination of huevos grandes, a narrow circuit and little regard for intact bumpers can produce. Eeeeesh. According to , driver Jordi Gené (in the red car) was...
