This Ultra Chill In-Car Race Commentary Is The Most Australian Thing Ever
This Ultra Chill In-Car Race Commentary Is The Most Australian Thing Ever-September 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:32

Australia feels like our ballsier brother from another mother at times, with rough-and-tumble series like the Supercars as proof that they’re all out of crap to give. So, it just feels right for an Aussie broadcast to cut to a driver so he can nonchalantly chat with announcers while he’s racing.

This is a clip from the Toyota 86 Racing Series at Winton, and the lucky driver who got tapped for a few comments mid-turn was Australian Supercars pilot Steven Johnson.

Many drivers want their full attention on racing, so much so that some even tell whoever’s manning their radio to . Not Johnson.

Johnson handles the rubbin’-heavy racin’ and his brief chat with the commentary team like a true pro, never losing his cool even in heavy traffic.

If that’s not Aussie racing in a nutshell, I don’t know what is.
