About twenty of the over sixty from Red Bull Racing's factory in Milton Keynes have been recovered from the bottom of Horseshoe Lake on Monday.

Unsurprisingly, several have been damaged and Thames Valley Police are working with Red Bull Racing to determine exactly how many were recovered.

Team principal Christian Horner had this to say of the discovery to the BBC:

The fact that some of the trophies were discarded in a lake and damaged shows how senseless this crime was.

While the trophies mean an enormous amount to the team, their intrinsic value is low - and the extent of the damage that was caused to the factory by the offenders during the break-in was significant.

Hopefully we can get the trophies back to our factory where they belong and get replicas made of those that we can't.

Horseshoe Lake is located near Sandhurst, which is 33 miles to the southwest of London. The thieves remain at large after the , where they drove a silver 4x4 through the front doors of the factory.

Thames Valley Police have asked anyone with any information on the burglary or whereabouts of the remaining forty or so trophies to let them know immediately.
