Graham Rahal came into the IndyCar race at Pocnono second place in the series championship. Unfortunately, he won’t be finishing the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono due to a crash with Tristan Vautier. There’s only one race left, and tensions are clearly high during this second to last round of the 2015 IndyCar season.

The Rahal Letterman Lanigan team was hoping that a earlier in the race would be their only hiccup with Graham Rahal’s car. Unfortunately, his day went from frustrating to, well, over. Here’s how Vautier and Rahal ate the wall.

Rahal, of course, was none too happy about his championship hopes being curtailed and went over to have a few heated words with Vautier after the wreck.

Oh, how I’d love to have been a microphone on the Holmatro Safety Team’s lapel right then.

Rahal calmed down a bit after he was off the Pocono banking, explaining his side of what happened to :

Wilson and I were going thorugh Turn 2 and Justin lost momentum so I stuck in inside of him, so we ran down to Turn 3 together and Vautier decided to join the party at the last minute.

He says I turned in on him but there’s no space [to do that]. He’s not the sharpest one around here and that’s fine. Disappointed; we’re down but not out.

The shame of today is that when we were ahead of Montoya our car was better. They couldn’t keep up. Next thing you know we couldn’t fuel and fell back, and as they say, when you’re back with the squirrels, you’re bound to get your nuts cracked.

Ouch!

Vautier felt really bad about potentially dashing the championship hopes of a guy who was going into Pocono. He told Autosport:

It’s a tough one. I thought I had a run, I was almost alongside. We were three wide and I don’t think Wilson knew that. I didn’t get any room and I thought I deserved to get some room. I feel bad; [Rahal] was a the championship contender and a Honda, so I am always going to look like the bad guy.

Rahal is keeping his head up, though, tweeting about how it’s not over ‘til it’s over and decided:
