The Audi R18 is one of the fastest cars out there at the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, and every part of its design has been optimized for speed. The aerodynamics may get a bit borked when the driver’s door flies off, though.

Mike Fuller from believes that lift was the likely culprit as to why the window popped out on Audi’s #9 car (and took chunks of door with it).

Back in the pits, Audi Sport head Wolfgang Ullrich took a good, long look at what was left of the #19 car’s door:

The team only took one minute and 43 seconds to swap out the busted door before sending René Rast back out in the #9 car. That’s how you win endurance races: everything must be a quick fix.
