Watch The Final Minutes Of The Nürburgring 24 Hours And Lose Your Mind
Watch The Final Minutes Of The Nürburgring 24 Hours And Lose Your Mind-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:32

Context is everything in sports, particularly in 24-hour endurance racing where pit stops and timing rules can impact the outcome. You don’t really need any of that here. Just watch and enjoy.

I’m going to go against precedent here and not spoil the ending for these final 20 minutes, because the twists and turns for what is a tiny sliver of time in the grand scheme of a 24-hour race makes it incredibly enjoyable even if you didn’t watch any of it.

The only context I’ll provide is that in a 24-hour race you get to finish the lap, even if you cross the line with only a second to spare and that the Nürburgring is over 15 miles long.

That poor Clio!

Big Dumb Pileup At First Turn Eats Half Of A Race Class At COTA
Big Dumb Pileup At First Turn Eats Half Of A Race Class At COTA
For many fans, GTLM is our favorite class in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship, with all the major factory teams. Hopefully you’re not a Ford or Ferrari fan today, as both Fords, the lone Ferrari, one Porsche and one Corvette were all involved in a first turn pileup that...

Racer Somehow Holds It Together After Getting Pelted With Part Of His Own Car
Kenny Habul hit one of the bumps inside the esses on Circuit of the Americas a little too hard during qualifying for Saturday’s IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship race, knocking his radio loose from inside the car. Habul held it together like a champ, despite his car throwing its own...

Talladega Superspeedway Just Ate Some Race Cars For Lunch
It was around 12:45 p.m. local time when Alabama’s Talladega Superspeedway decided it was lunchtime, and, luckily for track and unluckily for its drivers, it didn’t have to look far. There were plenty of race cars diving into the third turn to chomp on. There were officially involved in the...

Toyota's Final, 1-2 Winning Lap At The 6 Hours Of Spa Was Intense
Could this be Toyota’s year to win Le Ma—wait. No. Stop there. Nope. We don’t want to accidentally jinx those guys. Toyota won their second World Endurance Championship race of the year with an eat-it-Porsche 1-2 win at Spa, and the last lap where the the No. 7 tried so...

Suddenly Losing A Rear Wing On Race Car Can End Very, Very Badly
Suddenly Losing A Rear Wing On Race Car Can End Very, Very Badly
You never really know how how much race cars depend on their aerodynamics until they suddenly snap off at high speed. Racer Will Hardeman’s No. 19 Moorespeed car got completely obliterated during Friday’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup USA race at Circuit of The Americas when Phil Bloom’s No. 11 Wright...

Austin WeatherTech Sports Car Race Ended With A Big Nissan Inferno
Wayne Taylor Racing continued their streak of IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship with another overall win today at Circuit of the Americas. That we sort of expected. Sadly, the surprise of the day was the No. 2 Tequila Patrón ESM car going out in flames with less than 10 minutes...
