Watch When Two Americans Took On Rally Finland
Watch When Two Americans Took On Rally Finland-November 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:21

Back in 2012, Americans Chris Duplessis and Alex Kihurani made it to Finland to run the round of the World Rally Championship. To everyone in the U.S. rally community, it felt like a victory in and of itself. Watch this video and understand why.

Rally Finland (which is also running this week) is consistently the fastest, wildest, most-mid-air-iest rally in the world. See how long Chris and Alex have no wheels on the ground. See how long they, in their little front-wheel-drive Ford Fiesta are completely and utterly sideways. Particularly the corner where Chris goes down to first gear.

You’ll know it when you see it.

International Motorsports Council Picks Worst Woman Possible To Represent Women
The FIA, a motorsport governing body overseeing dozens of international series like Formula One, added a women’s commission —when the association was already—to talk about “girl stuff” like, oh, equality in racing. The commission just added Carmen Jorda, who is the antithesis of that. While varying opinions are helpful, the...

These Are The Best Entry Level Rally Cars
Rally racing is its own discipline, different from most other motorsports in that it isn’t all about power and, as a new driver, you’re certainly not going to feel as in control as you expected. That makes it tricky to choose a car if you’re not familiar with the style...

No One Expected Snow On These Tracks But Racers Are Running Them Anyway
No words in the English language suck more in racing than “event cancelled.” It’s even worse if you’ve gone all the way out to an amateur endurance race where you may have spent months getting a car and a team together for just one weekend. Fortunately, not even snow could...

The FIA Doesn’t Deserve Pippa Mann But She Should Be There Anyway
Pippa Mann, , is opposed to the FIA’s appointment of Renault test driver Carmen Jorda to their Women In Motorsport Commission, and for very good reason. Recently Jorda has indicated an interest in creating what amounts to a ‘separate but equal’ Formula 1 series specifically for women, and does not...

The Drug-Running Team Who Got Into Racing With A Bag Full Of Cash At Le Mans
The Whittington brothers were constantly searching for their next adrenaline fix, so naturally, they went into sports car racing. Ex- historian John Ficarra told their insane story to VINwiki, and it’s a 1970s whirlwind of drugs and other illegal stuff, rad ‘staches and duffel bags full of cash. Two of...
