Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Apr. 18-19, 2015
Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Apr. 18-19, 2015-December 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:43

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

This weekend, the American sportscar series and IndyCar both meet in Long Beach to battle it out under the Californian sun. NASCAR heads back east to Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee. The Superbike World Championship heads to Assen, the Dutch circuit whose name conjures up giggles from immature human beings everywhere (self included). MotoGP, on the other hand, meets in Argentina. Finally, Formula One heads to Bahrain, where I’m glad the race won’t keep me up ‘til 4 AM to watch it live.

It’s another busy weekend for motorsports. Here’s everything that will be on TV.

If you know about anything we missed, or about good livestreams out there, let us know in the comments below.

Red Bull Is Shaking Things Up In The Middle Of The F1 Season
Max Verstappen has been the star of Red Bull Racing this year, and perhaps the entire Formula One field. He’s a breath of unpredictability, and success, in a sea of Mercedes team dominance. His teammate Pierre Gasly has been kind of the opposite, to the point that he just...

McLaren Is Finally Making A Full-Time Move To IndyCar
After this year’s Indy 500, McLaren is coming back to prove that it can actually do this thing, thank you very much... but with one caveat. It’s not rolling solo (by which, of course, we mean ‘partnering with Carlin and then pretending not to have actually done that’). McLaren...

W Series Driver Emma Kimiläinen's Incredibly Finnish Podium Celebration Is Too Damn Relatable
The just wrapped up its first full season this past weekend with securing the championship at Brands Hatch. The all-female motorsport category, the , wrapped up its first-ever season this past weekend with its race at Brands Hatch—an event that would determine its champion. A Run In An NHRA Car Is So Fast It Looks Like Time Is Warping
Need a little something to liven you up this afternoon? How about a clench-inducing NHRA visor cam video from Nitro Funny Car driver Ron Capps? Trust me—it’ll do the trick. Seriously—just sit down and let yourself enjoy the absurdity of this video: There’s so much here to pick apart that...
