Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Aug. 27-28, 2016-August 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:29

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

Go ahead and cancel your plans for the next two days, because there’s so much racing on that your head will spin by the end of this post.

The Verizon IndyCar Series will finally get the rest of its Texas Motor Speedway race in—well, hopefully—on Saturday night, and they’ll pick right back up where they left off when the rain washed everything out in June. The rain got to them 71 of 248 laps in, so there’s plenty of racing to go.

NASCAR is split up this weekend, with the Sprint Cup Series and Camping World Truck Series at Michigan International Speedway while the Xfinity Series is off road-course racing in Wisconsin. The series are back on their usual networks now that the Olympics is over, so you won’t have to scramble to find anything this time around.

Red Bull Global Rallycross is in New Jersey for the weekend, and coverage of their race will be on the usual slight delay on Sunday. Formula One will be on that morning, and defending champion Lewis Hamilton got himself a 30-place grid penalty .

IMSA will be at Virginia International Raceway this weekend, and you can catch them whether you have television or not—they’ll be on , too. Along with the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship on the online stream, there will also be the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America, Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and Porsche GT3 Cup USA races. The WeatherTech race stream is only available outside of the US, but everything else is fair game.

Also streaming will be the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup and Super GT races, and you can catch them on YouTube. Keep in mind that all of the links below are to separate coverage streams, and there’s a link for each broadcast—qualifying, qualifying races and the main race. If you’re interested, there’s also a from the Nissan GT-R NISMO garage at the Blancpain race in Budapest.

If all of that wasn’t enough, there’s plenty of tape-delayed race coverage on this weekend as well. If you know if any live streams or coverage we missed, feel free to share in the comments below.

Tasting Notes: #44 Magnus Racing Porsche 911
Porsche 911 GT America: Smells like vinyl and automotive cleaner. Taste is faint, but revolting. Tastes primarily like old socks, with hints of rubber and grit in the mix. Has a numbing effect on the tongue once done. The varmint has been entirely cleaned up now, so it does taste...

The 12 Hours of Sebring has barely started and it's already completely crazy. Michael Shank Racing's Ozz Negri almost came into contact with the Team Falken Tire Porsche 911, but hit something way worse. Negri caught the curb trying to get around the 911 on the inside, and the curb...
