There's not much going on in the world of motorsports this weekend, although there are a couple live events worth noting.

AMA Supercross has its season opener tonight. Love seeing dirt bikes fly through the air? We hope so, because that's the only live event on TV this weekend.

The Dakar Rally also , but we don't get of any of it until Monday. (Specifically, a recap at 4:30 PM Monday on NBCSN.) Dakar is one of the toughest rallies in the world, with insane racing machines built to handle most any terrain that gets in their way as they move across South America. Jalopnik sent Andrew Collins to write about it for a reason. It's more than kind of a big deal.

The offseason is really geared more towards the dwellers of Project Car Hell than it is the casual racing fan. May I recommend Type 4-swapping a K Car to pass the downtime?
