Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Oct. 10-11, 2015-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:37

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

With all of the NASCAR storylines lately, the Sprint Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday night will certainly be one to tune into (and this isn’t the 600-mile version of the Charlotte stop). One such storyline is that six-time champion Jimmie Johnson is out — that’s right, actually out — of contention for the title after the first championship round. Kevin Harvick made a last-minute save of his championship hopes after some bad luck and , collecting a win in the final race of the first round and guaranteeing himself a spot in the round of 12.

Both MotoGP and the FIA World Endurance Championship are in Japan this weekend, and Formula One is in Russia. Like usual, all broadcasts are at quite the odd times — perfect for all of the night owls and early risers out there. Rally racing, off-road trucks and motocross will get some air time this weekend as well, so despite the light schedule, it’s still a pretty diverse lineup.

On a bit of a sad note, we in the U.S. The live stream of the race isn’t exactly super cheap — OK, it’s pretty reasonable at about $11 for the event — it’s just not totally free. For those interested, the endurance race is held on Mount Panorama and the single broadcast will be .

The annual Winchester 400 is in the same boat as the Bathurst 1000, and it’ll be available by . If you’ve never tuned into the Winchester 400, you might recognize a few names on the entry list this year — (whose fathers are, indeed, Matt Kenseth and Jeff Burton).

If we missed any showings or you have an awesome live stream to share with us this weekend, feel free to let us know in the comments below.
