Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Sept. 10-11, 2016
Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Sept. 10-11, 2016-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:29

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

The realities of football season are upon us, and that may just be what you’re stuck watching all weekend—there isn’t much racing on television. The only live events on our usual networks in the roundup are the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series’ final race of the regular season, the MotoGP World Championship and MotoAmerica.

The MotoGP World Championship will be in Italy for the weekend, and it’s one for the early risers on this side of the world—beIN’s race coverage starts at 5 a.m. ET on Sunday morning, so go ahead and set your alarms now if you’d like. Repsol Honda Team rider Marc Marquez has a huge lead in the championship standings, with 210 points to second-place Valentino Rossi’s 160. From there, it’s a pretty steep falloff.

In addition to MotoGP coverage, beIN will also have coverage of MotoAmerica’s event at New Jersey Motorsports Park over the weekend. But if you prefer four wheels, the Sprint Cup Series will be at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday night. It’s the cutoff race for the series’ Chase for the Championship, so this is it—for better or for worse—for all of the drivers on the bubble of making it in.

As you can tell, the schedule is a bit light for the next couple of days. There’s some tape-delayed racing in addition to the live stuff, but please do share some streams for the weekend if you know of any. The comments section thanks you in advance.
