What's It Like To Race A Ferrari At Le Mans? Ask Jeff Segal Anything Right Now
What's It Like To Race A Ferrari At Le Mans? Ask Jeff Segal Anything Right Now-June 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:31

If there’s anyone who knows his way around a fast Ferrari, it’s Jeff Segal. So, because it’s the week of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, we’ve got him with us live from Circuit de la Sarthe. What’s that like? Do the teams bring extra-strong espresso? Ask anything you want

Segal is driving the brand-new Ferrari 488 GT3 car in the WeatherTech Sportscar Championship this year in the series’ biggest races: Daytona, Sebring and Petit Le Mans. He qualified Scuderia Corsa’s GT Daytona-class Ferrari 488 GT3 at the 12 Hours of Sebring, and the car went on to win the class. However, the LM GTE Am-class car he’ll be in for Le Mans is the old 458, as that World Endurance Championship class held off on the latest machinery for this year.

Before then, he was the youngest ever Ferrari Challenge race winner at age 17, and won two Rolex GT Championships in Grand-Am in 2010 and 2012. In 2014, he won the 24 Hours of Daytona with Level 5 Motorsports’ Ferrari (yes, ).

For Le Mans, he’s joining Bill Sweedler and Townsend Bell. This year, eight teams are racing either the 488 or the 458 at Le Mans. You’re going to hear lots of glorious Italian V8 wail.

What do you want to know about Le Mans, Ferraris, or even where to find a bathroom with a proper toilet seat at La Sarthe? We’ve got just the guy to tell you for the next half-hour or so, so ask anything you want now!
