You Have All Disappointed Me Once Again
You Have All Disappointed Me Once Again-July 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:12:02

Are you driving a white Cadillac as part of a stage production of ‘Saturday Night Fever’? No? Then pick a different color for your car.

When people say, “the world is your canvas,” I don’t think they were talking about literally leaving everything in your life a boring shade of white, but it seems that car buyers are just desperate to maintain a grayscale world, . And that is extremely disappointing. You have all disappointed me.

iSeeCars examined over 6.1 million cars on the road, and the stats are in: White, black, gray, and silver account for a whopping 78.5 percent of all vehicles on the road. I hate it.

Here’s how the numbers break down:

White: 25.8 percentBlack: 22.3 percentGray: 18.4 percentSilver: 12.1 percentBlue: 9.5 percentRed: 8.6 percentBrown: 0.9 percentGreen: 0.8 percentOrange: 0.6 percentBeige: 0.5 percenPurple: 0.3 percentGold: 0.2 percentYellow: 0.1 percent

iSeeCars accounts for the success of blue, too, by saying it can be a more “subdued” color; after all, plenty of the blue shades on the market nowadays could be mistaken for gray or black.

You can check out the full study here, since it also delves into the most popular colors by state and city. I was fascinated to learn that the most colorful state in the U.S. is... West Virginia? And that the least colorful state is California.

The jury is still out about why folks love their white vehicles. Some say is a safer color than other colors thanks to its stark contrast against pavement. Others say that, with the introduction of things like the iPhone, white became the for futuristic technology, whereas in the past that color had been silver. Others say white is favorable because it or . It’s also apparently “easy to maintain since you know when you need to wash it, but I’m going to be honest: That’s annoying.

All I’m going to say is, that’s boring. You’re all boring. Life is too short to drive boring-looking cars, so go out there and pick a fun paint color. Remember what it’s like to live a little.

Gran Turismo 7 Just Might Be Saved After All
It’s been beyond depressing to watch — a good driving game marred by a stingy economy and lacking single-player campaign — fall in favor over the past few weeks. Mainly because . The lack of late-game content and egregiously priced vehicles was bad enough, but then the title was...

My 1997 BMW 318ti Is Actually A Cargo Van
How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. That’s what Elizabeth Barrett Browning asked of her lover in . If I’d written the lines, I’d have gone with Sonnet 36 (or e36) as a nod to , which saved my wife and I more than once when...

Please Enjoy Watching A Porsche 911 GT3 Be Assembled
Here is a new Porsche 911 GT3, assembled from start to finish, in a complete timelapse. I find it oddly mesmerizing. I am sure there are a number of Porsche dorks who are salivating over the color of this particular car, bronze like a desert sand, bronze like a museum...

Six Teens Ran Through Highway Traffic After Crashing Stolen SUV
I don’t know what is a worse situation to find yourself in between stealing an SUV, crashing said stolen vehicle on a highway, or fleeing the scene by sprinting across six lanes of highway traffic. A group of Wisconsin teenagers appeared to have done all three. Last week Friday, in...
