Hyundai has revealed the first design sketches of the next generation 2015 Hyundai i20 set to launch in India on August 11.
The 2015 i20 was designed at Hyundai Motors Design Centre Europe in Russelsheim, Germany, and was inspired by the brands Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy that was also used in the 2015 Hyundai Genesis that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
Although spy images have already revealed the exterior and interior of the new i20, according to Hyundai, the design of the car is characterized by a long hood, sculpted body sides and a dark treatment for the C-Pillar.
It features a bold new Hyundai hexagonal grille up front, as well as a new thin horizontal strip connecting the headlamps. The digital sketches also show the vehicle sporting a new wrap-around rear window and unique treatment for the lamp clusters which combine with the cars hatchback proportions to create a distinctive design.
Engine choices are said to be carried over from the outgoing model, with a hotter first high-performance N variant scheduled for release in 2015 as part of the companys recently established sub-line-up of N-badged models.
The 2015 Hyundai i20 will be showcased at the Paris Motor Show in October, with an online reveal expected to occur this month or in September.
