Ducati raises the bar even higher with the 2014 release of the Ducati Panigale S. As opposed to the base 1199 Panigale model, the new one boasts superior performance and maneuverability thanks to lighter Marchesini machined-finished wheels, Ohlins electronic suspension, as well as a carbon fiber mudguard, and full LED lighting.
At its core, the power manager of the motorcycle is composed of the 1198cc Superquqdro Desmodromic liquid-cooled engine, and a six-speed gearbox equipped with DSQ (Ducati Quick Shift). Altogether mixing the power of 194 hp at 10,750 rpm and a torque of 132 Nm (97 lb-ff) pushes the bike to a top speed of 292 kph (181 mph). The dry weight of the 2014 Panigale model was 164 kg (361 lbs).
The 2014 Ducati 1199 Panigale S, like the previous models, used the aluminum monocoque frame. On the frame were mounted Ohlins NIX30 43mm, a fully adjustable USD fork at the front wheel, and a fully adjustable Ohlins TTX36 unit at the rear.
The braking system is well controlled by the two Brembo 330 mm semi-floating discs at the front and one 245 mm disc at the back.
The Marchesini machined-finished wheels were secured with a grip provider pair of Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires.
Also, besides the classic Ducati red, it comes with a new, more aggressive Dark Stealth color scheme.
The 2014 Panigale S was for sale in 2022 with a price starting at $17,000.
