A Salute To Fan Man, Unsung Hero Of Car Racing
A Salute To Fan Man, Unsung Hero Of Car Racing-December 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:38

This man — Fan Man — has the most important job in racing right now. It’s hot and humid as balls outside at this test day, and all I’m doing is walking around grabbing some photos. Inside a car probably feels like a sauna when the car is off.

There are many crew members out today, running many different tests and set-ups on the cars ahead of their race here next weekend, but the most important one may just be the fan guy.

Keep holdin’ that fan, dude.

Word around the paddock is that Mercedes has made up its mind about where its drivers are going. It’s believed that George Russell will partner with Lewis Hamilton next season, while Valtteri Bottas will likely get a soft landing — or, rather, as soft a landing as one could...

After a year delay due to COVID-19, Formula 1 will finally get to go to Zandvoort this weekend for the Dutch Grand Prix. I anticipate the race will be impossible to watch because of the ever-present orange fog blanketing the track, given that this will technically be Max Verstappen’s...

It Took 58 Years For The Only Black NASCAR Cup Winner In History To Get His Trophy
On December 1st of 1963, Wendell Scott won the Jacksonville 200. He didn’t win by two tenths or even two seconds, he won by two laps. In what has been alleged a callous racist bullshit move, the trophy that night was presented to second-place finisher Buck Baker. A few...

If Formula 1 Regrets The Belgium Grand Prix Farce, I Know A Way To Prove It
If Formula 1 Regrets The Belgium Grand Prix Farce, I Know A Way To Prove It
Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix was a pretty miserable one for everyone except Williams employees. The event will go down as the , due to a deluge of rain that intensified after qualifying and made safe racing impossible. The spray from leading cars was so severe, drivers would’ve been running...

Kimi Raikkonen Is Retiring
Kimi Raikkonen Is Retiring
Lots of drivers say they prefer to do their talking on the track, but none has ever meant it more than Kimi Räikkönen. I don’t know if he’s ever actually uttered those words (or anything that’s not monosyllabic), but it holds true over the course of his 18-year-long Formula...
