Formula E briefly halted their practice session today after Sam Bird’s car lost its wheel, sending the wheel rolling down the track.

Apparently a wheel is faster than a three-wheeled Formula E racer. Who’d have thought?

Fortunately, no one was injured by the Virgin Racing car’s stray wheel, and the session was quickly restarted.

Bizarrely, this loose wheel problem caused Sam Bird to be excluded from Free Practice 2:

“I’ll take ‘Rules That Make No Sense’ for $800, Trebek.”

If there’s anybody who needs a little extra practice time, it’s the guy whose session was cut short by a wheel falling off.
