Make A Joyful Noise Unto The World With The 911 Carrera RSR
Make A Joyful Noise Unto The World With The 911 Carrera RSR-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:47

There's something about an aircooled flat-six that sounds positively rowdy. Perhaps it's the mechanical roar it makes. Maybe it's the reverberation off the trees and the combination of engine noise with tire squeal. Either way, this car is fantastic, and driver Willi Jenni drives the wheels off of it.

Welcome to , a feature where we spend that pesky time between race weekends looking at awesome footage from inside the car.

This video shows everything awesome about driving a classic 911 hard. Sure, it'll wiggle a bit under hard braking as the car figures out where to shift all that weight behind the rear axle. Once it's back on sure footing, though, it can rocket out of a corner, on power before most mid- or front-engined cars can even think about it.

That's why I love that this onboard features both exterior views as well as the view inside the cockpit. See sideways hillclimb 911. See inside of sideways hillclimb 911.

Yessssss.

There's also the matter of that sound. No music. No sound effects added in post. Nada pumped into the cabin via speaker. Just pure flat-six joy.

Have an awesome onboard video to share? Drop me a line at [email protected] or post it in the comments below.

The American Divide That Created International Motorsport
The American Divide That Created International Motorsport
The ubiquity of seeing German and Japanese vehicles alongside American cars on roads in the United States might make this apparent contrast feel like a recent phenomenon. The 50th U.S. Grand Prix Is This Weekend, Depending How You Count
I have to admit that I’m horrible with anniversaries and birthdays. Remembering specific dates for important events have never been in my wheelhouse. Despite that, intuition struck that this year’s Formula One race in Austin is an important one. One might think it would be as easy to verify...

The Last Stand For Rossi's Chainsaw-Wielding Fans
The Last Stand For Rossi's Chainsaw-Wielding Fans
One of the most vivid differences between MotoGP and Formula One is the legions of absurdly rowdy fans that line the track at each MotoGP event. The return of spectators at some events this season was certainly welcome after running the 2020 season with either severely limited attendance or...

Is the U.S. Ready For Three F1 Races Again?
In 1982, the United States became the first country to host three races in a single Formula One World Championship season. The trio of events featured races in Long Beach, downtown Detroit, and Las Vegas in the infamous parking lot at Caesars Palace. Another country wouldn’t hold three F1...
