Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Dec. 10-11, 2016
Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Dec. 10-11, 2016-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:27

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

Well, it’s that time again—when there is no live racing coverage on television and we have to settle for Monster Jam marathons. (Really though, who doesn’t love Monster Jam? ‘Tis the season.)

There is one live event this weekend, though it isn’t exactly racing: the Nissan NISMO Festival, which will feature a bunch of Nissan NISMO race cars running around Fuji Speedway. It’ll be broadcast live on YouTube on Sunday in Japan, which is Saturday night in the Eastern Time Zone.

In the lineup of tape-delayed coverage this weekend are races from the Lucas Oil Sprint Car Series, Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, the FIA World Rally Championship, Virgin Australia Supercars Championship, Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series, World of Outlaws Craftsman Late Model Series, NHRA and Monster Jam.

The Supercars race is the season finale, so if you have managed to avoid any spoilers on that one, it could be fun. If not, well, you may just have to settle for watching other sports this weekend. If you know of any additional events or streams going on this weekend, please feel free to share in the comments below.

I Drove The Perfect Car: This 1970s Volvo Rally Legend
I Drove The Perfect Car: This 1970s Volvo Rally Legend
It doesn’t make a lot of sense that the very pinnacle of driving would be a box-on-wheels old Volvo on a patch of dirt and ice in rural New Hampshire. But I don’t need life to make sense. [This weekend I drove historic rally cars representing every decade from the...

If there’s one guy who’s got all the stories from the last three decades of Formula One, it’s Martin Brundle. He also made Ayrton Senna work very hard for his F3 championship and won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Jaguar. Nowadays, when not on TV with Sky Sports,...

Rolling Start Ends In Huge Crash For Patrick Long At Pirelli World Challenge
After with standing starts last year, Pirelli World Challenge moved to all rolling starts for its flagship GT/GTA/GT Cup run group.
