Weekend Motorsports Roundup, June 21-22, 2014-May 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:50

Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

Yo, hold up. I'm about to tell you something that's going to

NASCAR, the one and only NASCAR, doesn't always race on ovals. Sometimes, just sometimes, they race on road tracks. They go left and right, like every other respectable race series in the world.

(That's you, with your head exploding, just above, if you couldn't tell.)

It's crazy, I know. But they actually do race on road courses like Sonoma and Road America. Check it out:

It's pretty wild to see those great big lumbering beasts of NASCAR, sliding all over everywhere, with pretty much no downforce at all.

And if you really want some contrast, you can catch Formula One this weekend, too, as the Austrian Grand Prix makes its triumphant return after 11 long years in the wilderness.

Sounds pretty good, then. If you know about anything we missed, or about good livestreams out there, let us know in the comments below.
