Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Oct. 15-16, 2016
Weekend Motorsports Roundup, Oct. 15-16, 2016-March 2024
2024-02-19 EST 22:11:28

Welcome to the Jalopnik , where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

Well, there’s a lot of live racing on this weekend. Enjoy it, folks, because we’re about two months away from having a quiet Weekend Motorsports Roundup and empty DVRs—the traditional racing offseason is fast approaching.

Monster Energy Supercross is back this weekend, competing in the Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas. The Supercross says the event will have the highest elevated start in series history, and the track layout .

Most of the races showing this weekend have some early wakeup calls if you’re anywhere near the Eastern Time Zone, so brace yourselves. The Superbike World Championship from Spain and the MotoGP World Championship races in Japan will both show on , along with the FIA World Rallycross Championship event from Germany.

The FIA World Endurance Championship is on the list of early wakeup calls, too. They’re in Japan for the 6 Hours of Fuji at Fuji Speedway that starts at the same time as MotoGP, 1 a.m., while a portion of the FIA World Rally Championship event in Spain will broadcast at 6 a.m. ET. “Team no sleep” is what all of the kids say these days, right?

If you’re not into staying up through all hours of the night, NHRA will be in Texas and NASCAR will be at Kansas Speedway this weekend with the Xfinity Series and Sprint Cup Series. Both NASCAR series are in the middle of their Chase for the Championship seasons, and most of the Sprint Cup drivers left in Chase contention .

As usual, there’s plenty of tape-delayed racing on, if you really haven’t had enough for the weekend. If you know of any additional streams or events going on this weekend, please feel free to share in the comments below.
